Tyrone
Tyrone, Georgia is a residential community of approximately 7,000 residents located in Fayette County, about 25 miles south of Atlanta, Georgia. The land was settled by Irish farmers in the late 1800s, and some of the homes built by those first settlers are still occupied by their descendants. Tyrone was incorporated on August 18, 1911, and the town was reportedly named by the Scottish and Irish immigrants who built the railroad in 1907 and were reminded of the topography of County Tyrone in Ireland. Located in north Fayette County, Tyrone offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy Fayette’s excellent schools and amenities while being just minutes away from I-85 for your Atlanta commute.
